Ed Ruscha at Sharples
Photo collage. Shot on iPhone 11. 2022.
Inspired by Ed Ruscha’s Every Building on the Sunset Strip (1966), I photographed a double-panoramic view of the college’s dinning hall before its closure and renovation. Shot with two phone cameras, the joined photos focus less on the architectural details, and more on the building inhabitants -- the students and dining service staff-- and the activities in the space. The panorama aims to capture the temporality and movement in space, which mirrors the students’ daily experience in this facility.
