Chester City Center
Personal project. Spring 2019 - 2022.
Combatting poverty, systemic racism, and environmental injustice with non-violent actions, Chester City needs a community space that helps to continue building their strong sense of community and invite more people to join their fight against inequity.
Instead of demolishing the old house and building something entirely new, this renovation project maximizes the resources that the community currently has. It also acknowledges and celebrates the community’s history of grassroot activism and fighting off developments. It aligns with the practice of architecture that is always changing and symbolizes the aspiration towards a more sustainable and resilient future.
